Description The "No-see-ums" (Leptoconops torrens) (Gnat that bites) belong to the family Ceratopogonidae and are about 1/16-inch long. They are so tiny they could pass through window screens. They can and do slip through clothing. The welts lasts several days and very itchy and irritating.
