We're finally setting up a proper storage system at our facility in Al Quoz and I'm trying to figure out what kind of pallets we actually need. We deal with a mix of stuff – packaged electronics, some automotive parts, boxes of hardware – nothing crazy heavy but definitely not lightweight either. I've been looking at medium duty pallets as a middle-ground option but honestly I'm getting confused by all the specs out there. Some show dynamic load capacities around 1000 to 1500 kg which seems plenty for us, but then racking capacity is a whole different number. We're planning to use these with standard selective racking systems, so that's a big factor. Also, I keep going back and forth on plastic versus wood – I know plastic costs more upfront but everyone says it lasts way longer and handles the humidity better here. Plus we store some sensitive stuff so the hygiene aspect matters. What I really want to know is whether anyone's used those 9-leg flat pallets in a busy warehouse and how they hold up with constant forklift movement. I reached out to a top medium duty pallets manufacturer in UAE and they seemed knowledgeable, but I'd love to hear from actual users before I make a decision. And if you've switched from wood to plastic, was it actually worth it in the long run? Just trying to avoid making an expensive mistake here.
