What exactly is a Loofah and its origin?

A Loofah is nothing but a fruit of the Loofah Plant which is a member of the cucumber family. This Luffa Gourd forms a skeleton of fine fibres unlike the sea sponges. It forms a natural Luffa Sponge when dried to be used in the bath exfoliation and household cleaning.
