BALTIMORE -- Wins and losses have been elusive for Jake Odorizzi, whos experienced a very strange season with the Tampa Bay Rays. Air Max 98 Qs Thunder Blue .Odorizzi pitched well enough to win Sunday, yet the result was familiar: a no-decision in the Rays 2-1 defeat against the Baltimore Orioles. It was the 16th start in which Odorizzi received neither a win nor a loss. The right-hander allowed one run and five hits in six innings, striking out three and walking none.Hes got a fine 3.73 ERA and has allowed two runs or fewer 20 times this year, but owns an unspectacular 9-6 record.Over time were going to win a lot of those ball games, manager Kevin Cash said.Odorizzi cant do anything about it but shrug his shoulders, grab the ball every fifth day and hope for the best.I honestly dont think about it, he said. I try to keep us close every time. Not lose us the game. As long as that doesnt happen, its a quality outing. Its a funky thing but no-decisions are a lot better than losses, the last time I checked.Mark Trumbo hit his major league-leading 43rd homer to break an eighth-inning tie and provide Baltimore with a much-needed win.Manny Machado also connected for the Orioles, who lead the majors with 236 home runs. Baltimore salvaged a split of the four-game series against the last-place Rays and improved to 16-47 when scoring three runs or fewer. We needed two runs to win today because we pitched real well, manager Buck Showalter said, and we got them. After missing two straight games with back spasms, Trumbo returned with a flourish. With one out in the eighth, the Orioles cleanup hitter drove the first pitch from Ryan Garton (1-1) far over the center-field wall, his career-high 101st RBI of the season. This time of year, someones got to step up at some point in the game, Trumbo said. It was a well-played game, but we just needed to get that hit there at the end. So it was nice.Brad Brach (10-3) pitched the eighth and Zach Britton got three outs for his 45th save in 45 tries. After Tampa Bay got a runner to second with one out against Britton, the lefty struck out pinch-hitter Logan Forsythe and retired Alexei Ramirez on a grounder to shortstop.Corey Dickerson homered for the Rays, extending the teams streak of games with a long ball to 14. The drive put Tampa Bay ahead 1-0 in the fifth inning.Odorizzi left with the score 1-all. Hes 6-1 since July 10.Cant be happier with the way Jake battled today, Cash said.Orioles starter Wade Miley allowed one single over four shutout innings, then left with a mild muscle strain in his upper back after warming up in the fifth. That put an end to perhaps his best performance since joining Baltimore on July 31. The left-hander was 1-5 with an 8.41 ERA in eight starts as an Oriole.Miley was replaced by Darren ODay, who was activated from the disabled list before the game. The sidearmers first pitch since Aug. 11 was hit by Dickerson into the left-field seats.Tampa Bay loaded the bases with one out in the sixth against Donnie Hart before Dickerson hit into a double play.Machado led off the bottom half with his career-high 36th home run and fourth in 32 career at-bats against Odorizzi.ITS A STEALRays CF Kevin Kiermaier stole his 18th consecutive base in the fourth inning. Hes 20 of 22. The Orioles have 17 steals as a team, on 28 attempts.TRAINERS ROOMRays: 1B Nick Franklin (hamstring) hasnt played since Thursday and is still pretty sore, according to Cash. ... C Bobby Wilson left the team because of a death in the family.Orioles: To make room for ODay (shoulder), 1B Steve Pearce (forearm) was moved to the 60-day DL, ending his season.UP NEXTRays: Tampa Bay is off Monday. Unbeaten in his last 10 starts, LHP Drew Smyly (7-11, 4.98 ERA) starts Tuesday night at home against the Yankees.Orioles: Dylan Bundy (9-5, 3.88) faces Bostons Rick Porcello (20-4, 3.12) on Monday night. "Im proud of the way Im playing just now, because I had to do a lot of work to get back to where I want to be," Murray said after celebrating with his teammates on the red clay court in a temporary stadium in left field of the downtown home of baseballs San Diego Padres. How will Tiger play? 2. Whats up with Rory? 3. Can Phil really win this? 4. How is the course playing? And 5. How will Graham DeLaet play? In order, my responses: 1. I think I still have a few question marks surrounding the state of his game at the moment. He says his elbow is fine and it didnt show any signs of hurting him during practice but hes been off for a month so while I think hell play well, Im not betting on him. 2. Who knows? I dont even think Rory knows and it appears as if its starting to frustrate him, all these mediocre scores and all. He keeps saying hes close, and that hes had good rounds but not good consistency, but until he starts playing like he did at this time last summer, the questions about his clubs, his dedication, his girlfriend et al will continue, even if all of them are unfair and probably have no effect on his game, good or bad. Sometimes guys just dont play well. 3. Phil won on a links course, which is a good thing, an impressive thing, a surprising thing. But Phil winning at the Open to me is still a bit of a long shot. I do think he will be heard from at some point this week, but Im not sold yet that hes figured out how to mesh his immense talent with a links course. 4. Hard and fast. Think Hoylake in 2006. This is as hard and fast as weve seen an Open Championship in some time and I think the players are excited about the prospect. The weather is unseasonably warm (I packed three turtle necks and zero shorts) and the sun is shining. The wind is blowing but not hard which all adds up to tough pin placements or low scores. 5. Graham DeLaet looks confident. He looks relaxed and he seems prepared. I watched him on the range this week stinging three irons about 280 yards without getting six feet off the ground. I saw him bounce shots in from 160 and have them stop right by the pin. I also think he understands thhe mental test that awaits him but this is his first major and his first British Open so lets not put too much in the way of expectations on the guy (we can save that for next week). Air Max 98 a Vendre. ------- It was predictable, of course. Not long after Peter Dawson, head of the R&A, and his pals sat down in front of the press, the questions about gender equality came spewing forth. Why, it was asked many times in many ways, was the R&A okay with holding the grandest of its championships at a facility that doesnt allow women to be members? Dawson bobbed and weaved, even seemed to get a little irritated, but in the end had to absorb countless body blows. There is no way for the R&A to win this one and Dawson probably knows it. After Augusta National admitted women members this past year, it left the R&A standing naked in a field. Of course the question isnt - or shouldnt be - whether or not clubs can be male or female only. Thats up to the club. Its whether or not the Open Championship should be held at such a facility. My answer is no. It will be a long, slow change if it happens, but the questions are going to keep coming until something changes. ------ My top five picks in no particular order: Graeme McDowell, Tiger Woods, Luke Donald, Brandt Snedeker and Sergio Garcia. My two darkhorses: Henrik Stenson and Brandon Grace. ------ Random thoughts: I watched David Duval hit a few shots today. He still looked pretty darn good with the club in his hands ... The golf course continues to get harder and faster with each day. One marshal told me that they watered an area where he was standing but the water they put on "wasnt enough to make a cup of tea." ... I ran into the amazing Judy Rankin on the course today. In my book, theres no one better as a walking reporter. Looking forward to working with her in Edmonton next month ... In the bet shops on Wednesday, Graham DeLaet was at 100/1. Tiger was still the favourite at 8/1. Jerseys NFL Cheap Wholesale Jerseys China Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap Jerseys 2018 Wholesale NFL Jerseys China NFL Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys China ' ' '
